Trademark Policy

"qaitai", the qaitai logo and the "tryqaitai" domain names are trademarks of [[LEGAL_ENTITY]]. The open-source licenses cover the code, not the name or logo. This policy says how you can use them. The goal is simple: people should always know whether they are using the official qaitai or something else.

Fine without asking

• Saying truthfully that your software works with, integrates with or is based on qaitai ("Acme QA, based on qaitai").
• Referring to qaitai in articles, tutorials, talks, reviews and comparisons.
• Running an unmodified official release internally or self-hosting it for your organization and calling it qaitai.
• Using the name in a fork's repository only to say where it came from (for example "forked from qaitai") while the fork itself uses a different name.

Needs our written permission

• Naming a product, service, company, domain or social account with "qaitai" or something confusingly similar (for example "qaitai Pro", "qaitaihq.com", "qait-ai").
• Offering a hosted service called qaitai, or implying that a hosted service is run or endorsed by us.
• Distributing a modified version under the qaitai name or logo.
• Merchandise, and using the logo anywhere beyond linking to the project.

Forks

You are welcome to fork qaitai under its licenses. If you distribute a modified version or offer it as a service, rename it and replace the logo, and say it is not the official qaitai. Keep the copyright and license notices, as the licenses require.

How to use the name

Write it lowercase: "qaitai". Don't combine it with other words into a new mark or change the logo's colors or proportions.
